BSH & BGH Host NHRA-Accredited CME on Gallbladder Polyps and Incidental Cancer
Shaping Clinical Practice Through Education
Bahrain Specialist Hospital (BSH), in partnership with Bahrain Gastroenterology & Hepatology Center (BGH), successfully hosted a Continuing Medical Education (CME) conference accredited by the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA). Held under the theme of Approach and Management of Gallbladder Polyps with Incidental Gallbladder Cancer, the event drew medical experts from across the Kingdom for an insightful exploration of emerging strategies in gastrointestinal care.
The conference took place in a collaborative and academic spirit, with Dr. Venkata Srinivas, Consultant Gastrointestinal Surgeon, delivering a compelling keynote that illuminated best practices in diagnosing and managing complex gallbladder pathologies. His presentation emphasized the importance of early detection, risk stratification, and evidence-based surgical intervention — especially in cases where malignancy is discovered unexpectedly.
Leading the conference was Dr. Najah Zayani, Consultant Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine, whose welcome address set the tone for knowledge exchange and clinical advancement. The event was expertly moderated by Dr. Rajesh, Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist-Endoscopist, who guided a robust panel discussion featuring Dr. Manzoor Ul Haque, Dr. Farina Mohammed, and Dr. Kiran Tabish — bringing multidisciplinary perspectives to the forefront of clinical dialogue.
The CME attracted a strong turnout of Gastroenterologists, General Surgeons, and Internists from both public and private healthcare institutions across Bahrain. Attendees actively engaged in case-based discussions and question-and-answer segments, reaffirming the conference’s role in enhancing clinical practice through education.
This event highlights BSH’s continued commitment to professional development, collaborative learning, and elevating standards of care in Bahrain’s healthcare ecosystem.
