Led by Dr. Abdul Azeez Mohammed and Dr. Shaikh Bux, the team has successfully published a rare and insightful case report titled “Primary Idiopathic Chylopericardium in an Adult Female” in the esteemed Houston Methodist DeBakey Cardiovascular Journal.

Case Report Highlights

The published case explores a rare condition involving recurrent accumulation of chylous fluid in the pericardial cavity. The patient required extensive investigations including pericardial fluid drainage and analysis with special stains as well as advanced imaging with lymphscintigraphy which was greatly appreciated by the peer reviewers and editors. The patient ultimately underwent thoracic duct surgery, which resulted in an excellent clinical outcome.

This case not only demonstrates the clinical precision and multidisciplinary teamwork at BSH but also provides valuable insights into the diagnosis and management of a condition seldom reported in medical literature.
